Well even before Windows 7 has been released to the public we are starting to see Lite versions of the operating system pop up on the net. If you are not familiar with the lite versions it is simply just a cut down version of an operating system. This is usually done to improve disk space and speed up the operating system, basically everything that is not needed is removed.
Three different versions I have seen over the last couple of days are:
Media Edition
Build built for those wanting to run Media Center computer on low end PCs or for someone wanting to run a lite version of 7 with most functionality remaining.
Elite Edition
Build built for those that feel that Home Theatre is not enough of a cut down for them.
Xtreme Edition
Build built for those that want to run 7 with as minimal Windows components installed as possible.
I'm sure over the coming months there will be a great selection of these 'Windows 7 Lite' editions popping up on the net. But for now here are a few screen shots of version already available:

Wow, didn’t really know that there is a lite version of Windows 7.
I downloaded and installed Windows Seven RTM version for testing purposes, which takes up nearly 9 GB space.
Will try out the lite version in the new future.
